Take Time For A Few Deep Breaths

The breath is the link between the body and the mind. With intentional breath practices we can increase focus and energy and decrease fear and reactivity. The reasons are simple, when we slow down our breath, we slow down our nervous system. Slowing down the nervous system helps calm and slow down the mind. Quieter brains create a better focused mind, giving us time to make choices that have better results. Better choices create a life worth living, one breath at a time.

DBT For Adults

Life is not easy, but it doesn’t have to be this hard either.

The first step toward a better future is deciding that you no longer want to stay in your current circumstances. Our trauma-informed team of therapists can help you take that first step with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Our state-certified intensive outpatient DBT program focuses on helping clients with a high risk of suicide, self-destructive and impulsive behaviors, high anxiety, severe depression, PTSD and more.

Trauma-Informed DBT

The passing of time does not heal all wounds. It’s common for people to struggle for years or decades after a traumatic event or overwhelming life experience. TI-DBT is a therapy designed to help you make sense of your symptoms so you can take positive actions to decrease stressors and overcome challenges on your healing journey. The ultimate goal of TI-DBT is to help you reduce trauma’s painful imprint on your mind, body and spirit.

That’s where Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) can help. It is a comprehensive treatment designed to get to the root of your struggles, help you recover from trauma and create a life you want to live.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative therapeutic approach that has proven to be effective in reducing the long-lasting effects of distressing memories by developing adaptive coping mechanisms.

EMDR has helped an estimated two million people overcome trauma and psychological distress. The treatment itself consists of the patient being asked to recall a traumatic memory or distressing image while engaging in a type of bilateral sensory input such as tapping their hand, moving their eyes back and forth, or breathing in and out in a consistent pattern.

There are multiple phases to EMDR, including examining the patient’s past history and assessing readiness, identifying means of managing emotional distress, and engaging in the sensory process.

EMDR can be a crucial step in the recovery process for people who are continuing bear the burden of past traumatic memories. Our trauma-informed team of therapists can administer the EMDR therapy and help you learn the skills necessary to overcome your trauma and build a life worth living.

EMDR has been designated as an effective treatment by organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association, the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and more.
