Plymouth Office

Summer Ratliff, LADC, LICSW

Approach: Everyone deserves a safe space to heal and are the experts of their own lives. There are many roads to recovery and healing. It is not a one size fits all. The approach which I use during therapy is trauma-informed care while using dialectical behavior therapy and other various modalities. It is important to me as a provider when you come into this office; you experience non-judgment and can be yourself. The hope is you will be able to gain new coping strategies to live your best life.

I have experience working with individuals who live with mental health and substance use disorders. Substance use is a coping strategy to manage mental health symptoms. The truth is it is all mental health whether it is genetic, trauma throughout your life or even the unspoken events which have been kept quiet because you have no words for the events which happened to you. It’s about unlearning behaviors which have served you for a lifetime but are causing problems in your present day.

Hobbies: Reading, watching movies/tv shows, traveling adventures.

Quote: “I am not what happened to me; I am what I choose to become” Carl Jung
“It always seems impossible until it is done” Nelson Mandela

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
