Our Team

Asmita Bakshi, Clinical Trainee

Approach: I approach therapy with curiosity and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. My work is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while also drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered, and feminist perspectives. I believe that while we can’t always change our circumstances, we can learn to respond differently- to slow down, notice, and choose how we show up for ourselves and others.

In our work together, we will focus on building emotional awareness, developing coping skills, and helping you reconnect with parts of yourself that may have felt lost along the way. My style is collaborative, down-to-earth, and sometimes sprinkled with humor; I see therapy as a space to be real, not perfect.

Hobbies: Outside of the therapy space, I foster and volunteer with animal rescues, spend time in nature, and love cooking dishes from different cuisines. I’m also passionate about maintaining a balanced lifestyle- lifting weights, exploring mindful and intuitive eating, and finding movement that feels good.

Pronouns: She/Her. You can call me Asmita or Ash.

Quote: “Take time to schedule your joy; pain will schedule itself.”
